John has been involved with most Australasian agribusiness, food, beverage and retailing companies for over thirty years both from the perspective of the head of research for AMP’s equity investment arm throughout the 80s and then working as a rated equities investment analyst for major international stockbroking firms in the first half of the 90s and then as an independent consultant to major institutional equity investors in the latter half of the 90s and then working with one of the four major banks as a Director of Business Development focussing on mergers, acquisitions, strategic planning and funding structures for major clients and prospective clients of the bank in the Consumer area covering the supply chain participants involved with agribusiness, food, beverage and retailing in its widest interpretation in Australasia. For the last four years John has focussed on assisting smaller businesses to restructure their businesses across the spectrum from growing to going including advice on strategic positioning of existing businesses and business planning advice to relative newcomers in new growth segments including mobile phone direct marketing, new packaging segments, new products and new supply chain initiatives.

Through their involvement with convenience stores John has also worked closely with the major petroleum retailing companies in Australasia. Through this involvement he has been working with the global parents of two of these companies working on strategic issues of interest to them in this time zone.

John’s involvement with retailing has included working for global "fast food" companies and major franchisees operating in Australasia.
