ACHIEVEMENTS:
- 1980 established the Australian investment banking operations for Kleinwort Benson - then one of the world's largest and most successful investment banks
- 1985 established a global corporate finance division for Bank of New Zealand
- 1990 commenced the business which today is known as Geoff Harrington & Co with a deliberate focus on bringing significant investment banking to smaller transactions
- Participated in the first tender offer. Initiated and completed what was then the largest successful hostile takeover in Australia's corporate history
- Introduced aggressive takeover defence to Australia
- Developed a "commercially-based" approach to sourcing counterparties - particularly for raising equity where a commercial "partner" will add value
